Last week, it was a rough one for us, but we’re ready to get back on the horse. This week, there are a lot fewer questions with teams who were full of them in Week 3.
A lot went wrong for us last week in our picks. We bet against every new quarterback, thinking the shock of playing that first week would surpass the adrenaline of becoming the starter. That led to the worst week in years of betting against the spread. For that, we will make it up to you.
Last week, we were killed by those new quarterbacks and backdoor covers. Losing the Patriots game on a backup quarterback throwing a pick-six is brutal, but that’s what you sign up for when you’re making bets. It’s for this reason why bettors love to parlay their picks because picking each game against the spread is a dangerous game.
This week, the byes begin, so we have fewer games to put our money on. It’s only the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers, so it’s not like good football was take off our television. That means we have 15 games to make up for whatever happened last weekend, and we need to try to find space in the lines to make some real money. We have to make sure to temper our expectations after seeing greatness from Kyle Allen and Daniel Jones.
This is a week where things can really go off the rails, but we have to bet smart. Don’t overreact to one week, but definitely learn from it. That’s what we’re doing as we learn from our mistakes and will put out a good week this week.

Season Record 21-27
Philadelphia Eagles at Green Bay Packers (-5)
This is a great game to have on Thursday Night Football. We aren’t sure what’s going on with the Philadelphia Eagles, but a lot of the issues seem to be with Carson Wentz and the passing game. It doesn’t help when your receivers are so bad they get called out on the news by people who save babies. The Eagles ended up losing a very winnable game against the Detroit Lions. It was inexplicable, but the Eagles lose these games sometimes. They were extremely inconsistent last season, ironically until Nick Foles took over again.
The Green Bay Packers have looked like the best team in the NFC through three weeks. They played a really terrible game to kick off the season, which makes it strange they are playing yet another Thursday night game. They went toe to toe with the Minnesota Vikings and came out the winner. Then, last week the Denver Broncos came to town and the Packers did what they have been doing and won. The defense has been carrying them, while the offense and Aaron Rodgers has avoided the big mistake.
This one is extremely hard to choose right now. Since it’s Thursday night and the Eagles are desperate, we expect weird things to happen. Our big issue with betting on the Eagles is too much relies on a recently injury Alshon Jeffrey to play well since the offense looked terrible without him. The Packers defense is too good to allow for a team to keep it close with just four days of practice. This is a game we’d advise to stay away from, but we will choose the Packers. Pick: Green Bay (-5)
