The Arizona Cardinals have been better than expected this year, but is it time for you to consider dropping quarterback Kyler Murray from your fantasy team?
The Arizona Cardinals have already improved their record from a season ago. It seems that they have found their franchise quarterback in Kyler Murray, but he seems to have hit a bit of the rookie wall in recent weeks. Murray hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass in the last eight quarters against the New York Giants and the New Orleans Saints. What should fantasy owners of his do?
The Fantasy Footballers look at the recent returns of Murray and attempt to figure out what to do about the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback formerly of the Oklahoma Sooners.

“At this point, you have to panic at least a little bit because of the next three weeks,” said Mike Wright. “San Francisco and the San Francisco [49ers] defense is fully legit. They are a great team. Now he gets the Tampa Bay Buccaneers sandwiched there.”
It might be a delicious sandwich with the awful Buccaneers serving as the meat, but that bread will be tough to swallow with it being San Francisco. The Cardinals will host the division-rival 49ers on Thursday Night Football on Halloween in Week 9. After what could be a calm Week 10 road game in Tampa, the Cardinals will have to play the 49ers in Santa Clara in Week 11.
Should the 49ers take care of business in Glendale on Halloween night and hold serve against another NFC West rival in the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football in Week 10, San Francisco could be 9-0 heading into that Week 11 date with the Cardinals. So how should you navigate this stretch of games for Murray if you have him on your fantasy team?
The Fantasy Footballers don’t think it’s worthwhile to hold on to Murray because you can only really play him one time in the next month: at Tampa Bay. He’s not a good play against the 49ers and Arizona will be on its annual bye in Week 12. You may have to factor in the Kenyan Drake trade to the Cardinals, but if you’re going to punt on Murray in fantasy, the time might be now.
