What should you do with Robert Woods: Keep, trade or cut him?

Fantasy Football, Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams will be on their bye this week, but what should you do with their wide receiver Robert Woods? Do you keep him, trade him or cut him?

When a player’s team makes it to the annual bye, it’s usually a pretty good time to evaluate his standing on your fantasy football team. Has he been a worthwhile member of your team? Has he underwhelmed your most lofty expectations? What if you can get something in return for the guy? The player that fits that criteria this week is Los Angeles Rams wide receiver, Robert Woods.

The Fantasy Footballers answer what the fans need to know. What should they do about Robert Woods? None of the guys think it’s a good idea to cut Woods, but you do have to ask yourself the question of if you think he’s going to bounce back at some point this year and play as he did a season ago?

If you think Woods is due for a second-half surge, then you should keep him on your fantasy football roster and see what happens. Should you think that last year was an anomaly for him, then it’s best to put out fliers in your league and see what you can get for him before the trade deadline comes up.

The Rams just had two get-right games against the terrible Atlanta Falcons and the abysmal Cincinnati Bengals in London before their annual bye. The Rams had been on a three-game skid prior to taking on the Dirty Birds in Atlanta back in Week 7. Los Angeles has found a soft part of its schedule and could continue to build momentum in what looks to be a tough NFC West this year.

Could Woods be a part of that overall team elevation in the second half? Potentially, but it’s more likely that Cooper Kupp will be the more vibrant part of the Rams passing attack, as Kupp tends to have a better rapport with Los Angeles starting quarterback Jared Goff. Woods can make plays in the receiving game, but he’s not Goff’s primary option at this point.

Overall, this does feel like a situation where you might want to keep him a few more weeks and see what’s up. If you can get a package from someone who forgets that the Rams are on their bye this week, then take advantage of that dumb fantasy owner in your league. That being said, you’re probably not going to get the return you were hoping for by putting Woods out on the market.
