The Los Angeles Rams will play the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football this week. Is it worth waiting to play wide receiver Robert Woods in fantasy?
The Los Angeles Rams won at home in primetime last week and look to do the same thing this week. Last week saw Los Angeles defeat the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football at the Coliseum. This week, the Rams will host the red-hot Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football.
One of the interesting wrinkles regarding the Rams last week was how often they went into two tight-end sets and pounded the rock with running back Todd Gurley. A reason for this was that the Rams had to deal with injuries to its receiving corps. This leads to a big start-or-sit question for The Fantasy Footballers to answer: Should you wait around and play Robert Woods on Monday?

What you should do is see if you have a more favorable matchup on the Sunday slate and go with that if you can. If not, then you can play Woods or pivot to Josh Reynolds if you have him in a handcuff. There are plenty of Rams receivers to play, but you need to make sure you have the right one in there for you.
One thing that favors Woods potentially in this matchup vs. the Rams is that the Rams don’t have one dominant wide receiver. They have three good ones in Woods, Cooper Kupp and Brandin Cooks, all of whom can do different things to attack an NFL secondary. Reynolds has played well having to fill in for Woods this year, so maybe the Rams have four good receivers now?
That being said, attacking this Baltimore secondary is a tough task. Ravens defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale might be getting some looks as an NFL head coach this offseason, muck like Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman most surely will, as the architect of the plus-one offense with Lamar Jackson at quarterback.
Overall, it’s usually not a great thing to wait until the last game of the week to start a guy you’ll need to win a fantasy football matchup. However, you should be in good shape to roll with Woods if you want. But if he’s not able to go, then try to act fast and go grab Reynolds off the waiver wire.
