Kirk Cousins has played very well this season for the Minnesota Vikings. So has the Los Angeles Chargers defense. Who comes out on top in this game Sunday?
There are only two weeks left in the 2019 fantasy football season. If you’re good enough at fantasy football, then you’re in the semifinals of your league in Week 15. Odds are, you’ve gotten great play out of your quarterback throughout the season, but what should you do with Kirk Cousins on Sunday when the Minnesota Vikings face the solid Los Angeles Chargers on the road?
The Fantasy Footballers noticed that not only are QB1s who faced the Chargers in recent weeks getting sub-QB12 performances, but these fantasy signal-callers are usually getting you QB20 performances when they take on the Bolts. Could Cousins end up being another statistic or break the mold against the Chargers on Sunday afternoon?

The Vikings are still fighting for their playoff dreams this season. Minnesota has a decent shot at winning the NFC North should they win out, which would include a victory over the Green Bay Packers. Cousins has played some of his best football since leading the Washington Redskins to the NFC East crown in 2015. However, this pass defense by the Chargers is legit.
The Chargers aren’t going anywhere this season, but still have a ton of talent on their roster. They are very well-coached on the defensive side of the ball under defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, who stems from the Pete Carroll Cover 3 coaching tree. Moving the sticks on the Bolts’ secondary won’t be easy, but if anybody can do it down the home stretch, it would be Cousins.
Since becoming a starting quarterback with Washington, Cousins is one of the most accurate passers in football. He might be getting back a Pro Bowl-level talent at wide receiver in Adam Thielen this week, so that could help him in Minnesota’s quest to get a road victory in Los Angeles. Plus, there should be a ton of Vikings fans at Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday afternoon.
Overall, if you have a better fantasy matchup at quarterback than Cousins has with the Chargers this week, then you may want to seriously consider that. But if Cousins is a big reason you’re playing for a shot at a fantasy football league championship, then you can feel alright about dancing with the one who brung ya.
