Dak Prescott is frustrated with how Cowboys season slipped away

Dak Prescott is at the Super Bowl but isn’t playing in it, which is something he’s going to use over the offseason as motivation.

Being at the Super Bowl and playing in the Super Bowl are two very different things. Dak Prescott is learning that the hard way.

After starting the season out with white-hot offensive agression, the Dallas Cowboys cooled and eventually stalled out. Fingers were pointed, people were blamed, and as the losing mounted guys like Dak were left looking inward at what happened to a season that early on showed so much promise.

“Obviously it’s frustrating,” Prescott told FanSided’s Mark Carman. “When you have the talent and the expectations like we did for the season and you end up doing what we did, it’s frustrating.”

Part of the fallout from the Cowboys failed season was the decision to not bring back Jason Garrett as head coach. Instead, Dallas will be rebooting next season with Mike McCarthy taking over, who comes to town with a chip on his shoulder following a tumultuous end to his tenure with the Green Bay Packers.

McCarthy brought a Super Bowl to Green Bay during his time there, though, which is something Cowboys fans are hoping he can do for them. To do that, he’ll have to further unlock the greatness of Prescott, who already has developed into one of the league’s most electric quarterbacks and continues to feed his hunger to prove all of his doubters wrong.

Dak Prescott spoke on behalf of Frito-Lay’s Casa de Crunch.
