2020 XFL Championship odds: Dallas Renegades emerge as early favorite

NFL

The XFL returns on Saturday and we could not be more excited about it. Here are the championship odds heading into the 2020 season. Who’s winning it all?

Super Bowl 54 wasn’t even a week ago, yet we have more professional football on the horizon. Are you ready for the XFL?!

It’s a return that has been 20 years in the making. The XFL will be back this weekend with all eight teams playing their inaugural games. While the AAF busted out due to capital concerns last spring, we have to believe professional spring football will work in the United States. The XFL is our best and only hope.

With the Week 1 slate of games beginning on Saturday, let’s take a look at the updated championship odds for all eight franchises. Betting odds are courtesy of Sports Betting Dime.

2020 XFL Championship odds

  1. Dallas Renegades: 3/1
  2. NY Guardians: 4/1
  3. LA Wildcats: 5/1
  4. Tampa Bay Vipers: 5/1
  5. DC Defenders: 7/1
  6. Houston Roughnecks: 15/2
  7. St. Louis Battlehawks: 10/1
  8. Seattle Dragons: 10/1

Coming in with the best odds to win it all are the Dallas Renegades at 3/1. They are led by former Pittsburgh Steelers backup and Oklahoma Sooners starting quarterback Landry Jones, who happens to be coached by his former college coach Bob Stoops. With former Auburn Tigers standout Cameron Artis-Payne in the backfield, this could be one of the best offenses in the XFL.

Trailing Dallas with the second-best odds is the NY Guardians at 4/1. They are led by former Oakland Raiders backup and Penn State Nittany Lions quarterback Matt McGloin. The Guardians will be coached by former San Diego Chargers head coach and long-time NFL offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride. They are projected to come out of the Eastern Conference this year.

The LA Wildcats and the Tampa Bay Vipers both have 5/1 odds to win the XFL Championship. A tick back of those two teams is the DC Defenders at 7/1 and the Houston Roughnecks at 15/2. Rounding out the rear at 10/1 is the St. Louis Battlehawks and the Seattle Dragons.

With the supposed best team in the league having 3/1 odds and the alleged two worst teams at 10/1 odds, this means we have tremendous competitive balance entering the relaunch of the XFL. Even though St. Louis and Seattle are being dogged a bit out of the gate, if you really believe in these teams for whatever reason, 10/1 odds is a steal for the supposed dreck of the XFL.

The DC Defenders will host the Seattle Dragons at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 8. That will be followed up by the Houston Roughnecks hosting the LA Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. ET. The Sunday slate begins when the NY Guardians host the Tampa Bay Vipers at 2:00 p.m. ET on Feb. 9. The final game of Week 1 will have the Dallas Renegades hosting the St. Louis Battlehawks at 5:00 p.m. ET.
