The Rams have several important holes to fill via free agency if they open regain their status as a Super Bowl contender.
It’s going to be a busy offseason for the Los Angeles Rams who have some key areas to address during the free agency period. Filling those needs might be a little difficult based on the fact they currently only have around $23 million in cap space.
While the Rams have some work to do this offseason, they still have the talent needed to be a playoff team. This roster is loaded with star players such as Aaron Donald, Todd Gurley and Jalen Ramsey.
However, the catalyst for their success is quarterback Jared Goff. His struggles last year made it difficult for the Rams to find any type of rhythm. Goff’s contract is also a big problem as it has limited the Rams ability to attack the free-agent market.
Goff needs to find his stride if the Rams hope to regain their dominance.
5. Von Bell, Safety
The retirement of Eric Weddle has created a hole in the Rams secondary. He provided the team with a veteran leader and someone who is always a threat to create a turnover. Taylor Rapp and John Johnson are the two top safeties remaining on the roster.
Los Angeles could dip into the free-agent pool and target someone like Von Bell. He’s a versatile safety who can work in the slot, cover the deep middle and support the run. Bell would also bring some of that veteran leadership lost with Weddle.
