The Cincinnati Bengals will kick off the 2020 NFL Draft in less than a month, but is their first pick as sure of a bet as it seems right now?
With less than a month to go until the 2020 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals are set to begin what should be one of the most unpredictable drafts in recent memory. Quarterback remains need numbers one, two and three, with Ohio native Joe Burrow just so happening to be available.
Will the Bengals do what many have been expecting since securing the number one overall selection or could they orchestrate a trade down with another quarterback-needy team? It’s time to find out with this 100-percent accurate, seven-round Bengals mock.
Joe Burrow
QB, Tigers
There really isn’t much to say about this pick that hasn’t been said already. Joe Burrow is the guy and anybody else in this spot would make you a whole lot of money in Vegas.
The team has already explored trading Andy Dalton (so far to no avail), meaning they clearly are intent on making room for their quarterback of the future. While rumors are floating around the league about the Dolphins wanting to trade up to take Burrow, general manager Duke Tobin would likely need to be wowed into the stratosphere with a monumental return of picks to pull the trigger on such a deal.
Cincinnati has shown Burrow their commitment to winning through a rare free-agency spending spree on defense and has plenty of talent on offense to make him successful in his rookie year. Tasking the Ohio native to lead the franchise into a new era feels like something out of a movie, but Burrow is plenty capable of being up to the challenge.
