Following a 4-12 season, what do the New York Giants have to do in 2020? Here is a season outlook and game-by-game predictions for the regular season.
Pat Shurmur lasted two seasons in New York. During his tenure as the head coach for the Giants, he never had more than five wins in a single season.
The franchise has changed dramatically since the last time the team was in the playoffs in 2016. Eli Manning has retired and given way for Daniel Jones. Odell Beckham Jr. has been traded, Landon Collins walked in free agency last offseason, and two head coaches have come and gone.
Now it is Joe Judge’s turn. Can he make this storied franchise successful again? We will see.
5. The Giants are .500 within the NFC East
Out of the four wins the Giants racked up last season, two of them came against the Washington Redskins. In early December, they dropped a close one against the Philadelphia Eagles in overtime on the road as well. Otherwise, it was a 2-4 season against the NFC East.
This season the Giants will be better. Rookies on both sides of the ball will have more experience, and the roster will have more talent once the offseason ends.
Yes, other divisional teams have also gotten better as well. But the Giants will have the fire power to play to at least .500 within the division in 2020.
Last season, the Giants beat the Redskins at home 24-3, then on the road in a scoring shootout 41-35 overtime win. They dropped each game against both the Eagles and Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys and Eagles will battle for the division title, while the Redskins and Giants play for third and fourth. However, the Giants can take both against Washington and steal one of the four games against the Eagles and Cowboys in 2020.
