Atlanta Falcons 2020 schedule release: Games, dates and times

Atlanta Falcons, NFL Schedule

After finishing the 2019 season strong, the Atlanta Falcons are looking to return to the NFL playoffs against a challenging schedule.

The 2019 season was a tale of two halves for the Atlanta Falcons. The first half of the season was absolutely brutal in Atlanta, which went just 1-7 and raised questions about the job security of head coach Dan Quinn.

Things turned around by the end of the year when the Falcons finished 6-2 to salvage a 7-9 season. That performance saved Quinn’s job, but given the amount of talent on Atlanta’s roster, there is certainly a playoffs-or-bust expectation on the Falcons entering 2020.

The core of the Falcons, headlined by Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, remains mostly intact from the team that was in the Super Bowl just four years ago. Atlanta has made a few intriguing pickups over the course of the offseason, including former Rams Dante Fowler and Todd Gurley to bolster the pass rush and running game respectively.

The problem for the Falcons is that the NFC South remains a brutally competitive division. The New Orleans Saints are one of the best teams in football while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made one of the biggest moves of the offseason by signing Tom Brady away from the New England Patriots.

Getting past at least one of those teams will be key to a return to the playoffs for Atlanta, but they do have plenty of challenging matchups ahead on their 2020 schedule. Games against the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, and Kansas City Chiefs add to the difficult task that the Falcons face in an attempt to return to the playoffs.

When the full 2020 NFL schedule is released this post will be updated immediately with game dates, times, and broadcast information. In the meantime, let’s take a look at the home and road opponents for the Falcons this season.
