The life cycle of an NFL head coach is much shorter than it used to be, and these five coaches could find themselves out of a job during the 2020 season.

NFL teams often aren’t patient with their head coaches, especially since it isn’t difficult to pull off a worst-to-first turnaround in one season. Five teams changed coaches after the 2019 season, which is a bit lower than usual, but that could be a sign a bigger bloodbath is coming in 2020.

Let’s take a look at five head coaches who could lose their jobs in 2020, beginning with Dan Quinn.

5. Dan Quinn (Atlanta Falcons)

The Falcons nearly fired Quinn in the middle of last season after the team got off to a 1-7 start. Quinn saved his job with a 6-2 finish, establishing some hope that the Falcons could get back on track in 2020.

Atlanta is still a talented team, but their division has gotten much more difficult now that Tom Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The schedule is also tough at the start for the Falcons, who play five of their first six games against teams who finished .500 or better in 2019.

Owner Arthur Blank likely won’t be as forgiving if Atlanta gets off to yet another slow start. Quinn could be tossed overboard in that case to try and help the Falcons salvage their season.
