Before he was the NFL MVP, Lamar Jackson was schooling dudes at Louisville where he had one of the best careers any college football quarterback has ever had.
Jackson took the NFL world by the horns last season when he used his dual-threat skills to lift the Baltimore Ravens to the best record in the AFC. Jackson led the NFL in touchdown passes and was fifth among rushing leaders, which is still shocking to type and was even crazier to watch unfold during the season.
The Ravens didn’t go all the way and win a Super Bowl, but as long as Jackson is healthy, they’re going to be in contention to hoist a Lombardi Trophy.
Before he was one of the best players in the NFL, he was a blur on the college football field when he starred for three years at Louisville. It’s not Throwback Thursday, but after SportsCenter shared a clip of these Jackson highlights from college, it may as well be Throwback Tuesday.

If your first time watching Jackson came after he came to the Ravens as the last pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, it’s a shame you didn’t watch him in college when every college football fan was left in awe every Saturday afternoon.
Jackson was one of the most electrifying talents the game has ever seen.
He was his generation’s Tommie Frazier, Michael Vick or Vince Young. A player with dual-threat skills who could see his unique skill-set translate to the NFL. Despite a number of skeptics, including Bill Polian who openly opined about Jackson’s viability as a wide receiver because he didn’t believe he could be an NFL quarterback, Jackson is now the prototype and what teams will be looking to find in future drafts. Polian has had to walk back his quote and issue an apology as a result.
“I was wrong, because I used the old, traditional quarterback standard with him, which is clearly why John Harbaugh and Ozzie Newsome were more prescient than I was,” Polian told USA Today Sports.
While there will always be a market for the pocket passer, there’s an even bigger market for the pocket passer who can also pick up 1,000 yards on the ground. Why just be a pocket passer when you can do that and be one of the best rushers in the league?! Jackson can do it all and he is.
He’s been doing it since he was in high school and later at Louisville and he’s doing it all now with the Ravens.
