Below are the five players who need to be great this upcoming season for the Dallas Cowboys. Who is the most important player for 2020?
Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys decided that change was needed. Too often had the team been positioned to contend but would fall short of those expectations.
Mike McCarthy has a Super Bowl win on his resume, as well as nine winning seasons and playoff appearances. Therefore, Jones appointed him the new head coach of the Cowboys, firing Jason Garrett.
The roster is nearing its completion, and the schedules for all teams were released. With the regular season inching closer, these are the five players that need to be great for McCarthy in 2020.

Around the trade deadline last season, the Cowboys and New York Jets were conjuring up trade rumors centered around All-Pro safety Jamal Adams. Looking to anchor the back end of the defense, the Cowboys sounded keen on bringing the Texas native home.
Those conversations fell through. Jeff Heath left to sign a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, and Jones brought in Ha Ha Clinton-Dix on a one-year deal.
Clinton-Dix spent his 2019 season playing for the Chicago Bears. Here, the former Alabama standout wanted to round out his game. He played in all 16 games, coming away with two interceptions and 78 combined tackles.
Throughout his six-year NFL career, Clinton-Dix has demonstrated he possess the skill-set that made him a first-round pick. However, he has not done it consistently. He has racked up as many as 100 combined tackles in a single season, gathered three sacks in 2015 and was a ball hawk for one year in Green Bay with a career-high five interceptions in 2016.
The talent is there, and Clinton-Dix needs to put it all together in Dallas under defensive coordinator Mike Nolan this season.
If Clinton-Dix can do a little bit of everything and have a big season, the team’s secondary can thrive. If he can do that, this will be one of the best defenses in the NFL like it was in 2018.
