Searching for the next Philip Lindsay: 2020 UDFA mock draft round two

Fantasy, Fantasy Football, NFL

Raju Byfield is joined by three of the brightest minds in the dynasty fantasy football industry as they partake in a mock draft aimed at finding the next Phillip Lindsay or Preston Williams.

As the last two seasons have no doubt taught us, it is important to do research on the top undrafted rookie free agents when preparing for your rookie drafts. Last season, prior to his injury, Preston Williams emerged as the Miami Dolphins number one receiver. He led the team in targets, receptions, receiving yards, air yards, and fantasy points prior to his injury. The year prior Phillip Lindsay emerged to beat out third round pick and fellow rookie Royce Freeman for the lead back job in Denver. The majority of the UDFA’s from this year’s class can be had in the fifth round of rookie drafts, or be acquired via waivers post-draft.

However, identifying the next UDFA to hit can be tricky. With that in mind I invited three industry experts who are not only well versed in all of this year’s rookie class, but who are adept at projecting roles and translatability of skill sets. David Willsey (@willson8tor) of Dynasty League Football and Unique RB Analytics, Marc Mathyk (@masterjune70) of Player Profiler and FantasyPros, and @thedraftgenius of Breakout Finder, Dynasty Nerds, and the Dynasty Wire Podcast joined me for a two round, 12 team, superflex UDFA only rookie draft. The results of the first round can be found here at FantasyPros. FanSided Fantasy Football will host the second round. Marc will make the selections at 2.01, 2.05, and 2.09, David at 2.02, 2.06, and 2.10, thedraftgenius will make the secltions at 2.03, 2.07, and 2.11, and I will be picking at 2.04, 2.08, and 2.12. Let’s dig in.
