Cleveland Browns new uniforms are everything we could have wanted

Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns are the most recent team to unveil new uniforms for 2020. By reaching into the past, the Browns win big with these iconic threads.

Why teach an old dog new tricks when the old tricks have always been great?

The Cleveland Browns went with a retro feel on their 2020 uniform reveal. The Browns’ new look should remind fans of the past and the glory days before coming back as an expansion team. It’s a really simple look and an effective one.

They will rock orange helmets, brown tops at home and white tops on the road, with brown and white pants as they choose. It’s a great aesthetic, even for a team that wears the odd, but effective orange and brown color scheme. Cleveland absolutely crushes their new uniform reveal.

For a team that hasn’t done a lot of winning this century, the Browns are winning the offseason uniform race. Though a few more teams have jerseys to drop, it was a simple and clean process throughout. It didn’t have the hype of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ reveal, nor was it the most catastrophic botch job of the Atlanta Falcons. Cleveland did its thing and won triumphantly.

2020 is a critical year for the Browns for many reasons. It will be quarterback Baker Mayfield‘s third season after being the No. 1 overall pick out of Oklahoma. It will be year four for Myles Garrett in Cleveland after being the No. 1 overall pick out of Texas A&M the year prior. Cleveland also has a new head coach in Kevin Stefanski and a new general manager in Andrew Berry.

Cleveland needs to push for a .500 record and challenge the Pittsburgh Steelers for the second-best record in the AFC North behind only the Baltimore Ravens. The Browns should be better than the rebuilding Cincinnati Bengals again, but their arch rivals will be getting a new quarterback this spring. Cleveland looks good in these new uniforms, but will they play good in these new threads?

Overall, these new jerseys serve as a rallying cry for Browns fans young and old. This fanbase needs to be united and passionate to help the Browns make a charge in the AFC this year. With an expanded playoff field, Cleveland should absolutely push for one of the three available Wild Card spots. This team is talented and looks great on paper, but are they ready to win big finally?
