The New York Jets have had their fair share of brilliant players, but who would crack their Mount Rushmore?
They may not have the most success, but the New York Jets have certainly made their mark on NFL history. The Jets won one of the most significant games in NFL history, topping the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III to add legitimacy to the pending AFL-NFL merger.
There have also been plenty of dynamic players to wear green and white over the course of NFL history. The talent began flowing in the franchise’s early days with Joe Namath, Don Maynard, Larry Grantham, and Winston Hill anchoring the franchise’s first title winner under the stewardship of Hall-of-Fame coach Weeb Ewbanks.
You also can’t forget the great Jets’ teams of the early 1980s featuring the New York Sack Exchange of Joe Klecko, Mark Gastineau, and Marty Lyons. The modern era of Jets’ football has also contributed plenty of memorable names to football history, such as Hall-of-Famers like Curtis Martin and Kevin Mawae, wide receiver Wayne Chrebet, left tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson, center Nick Mangold and cornerback Darrelle Revis.
With so much talent to choose from who ends up making the Jets’ Mount Rushmore?
