5 bold predictions for Tennessee Titans in 2020

Tennessee Titans

There’s a lot to look forward to for the Tennessee Titans in 2020.

The Titans’ front office has received a ton of positive press for bringing both Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry back for the 2020 season. The unfortunate truth for fans in Nashville is that paying high-priced stars for career years rarely works out for the franchise writing the checks.

It’s also worth remembering that the Titans only finished the 2019 regular season with a pedestrian record of 9-7. They are not bringing back a dominant regular season team. Instead, they are bringing back a roster that got really hot at the right time.

On paper, this roster looks a lot more like a good team than a great, Super Bowl contender. Anything less than another deep playoff run will be a disappointment for the Titans this season. The outcome of the following five bold predictions will go a long way towards determining how Tennessee’s season turns out in the end.

5. Titans will trade up in Round 1

The moves the franchise made this offseason make it clear that they’re all in for success in 2020. That makes them a prime candidate to trade up from their current spot at No. 29 in Round 1 of the NFL Draft.

The end of the first round really doesn’t match up well with the team’s biggest needs. In a perfect world, Tennessee could come away with a starting right tackle with that pick. The players who fit that bill are likely to be off the board in the first 15 picks. Look for the Titans to move up into the first half of the round to nab someone who can shift Dennis Kelly from starting right tackle to swing tackle.
