2020 NFL mock draft: Cincinnati Bengals replace Andy Dalton with Joe Burrow

NFL Mock Draft

The Cincinnati Bengals hold the No. 1 overall spot in the 2020 NFL Draft, and despite going back to Andy Dalton last week, he is no longer the answer.

While the Cincinnati Bengals got their first win of the season this past Sunday, it does not mean that they are going to fall out of the No. 1 spot in the 2020 NFL Draft anytime soon. In a wild weekend of NFL football, not only did the Bengals win, but so did the Miami Dolphins, as teams continue to try and make up the first five selections of the upcoming draft.

Here is our latest mock draft entering Week 14:

Joe Burrow

Quarterback, Cincinnati Bengals

In Week 13, the Cincinnati Bengals made the move back to veteran starter Andy Dalton, and the returns were positive. Dalton led the Bengals to their first win of the season, but after starting the year with 11 straight losses, Cincinnati is fully entrenched in the No. 1 overall spot in the 2020 NFL Draft.

When looking at the Bengals team outside the record, they have played hard for most of the season. While Dalton is a solid veteran quarterback, his time as the starter in Cincinnati appears to be coming to an end, and with Joe Burrow available in next April’s draft, you have to like the chances that the Bengals select him with the first pick.

Burrow has everything you look for in an NFL quarterback skill-wise, and he also played with incredible grit and determination. The Bengals have a young head coach in Zac Taylor, and he is going to want to build this thing his own way, and Burrow would be one heck of a way to get this thing turned around.

Chase Young

Edge, New York Giants

The New York Giants came into the season with plenty of expectations, as the franchise had hoped that Eli Manning had some good years left in him. Unfortunately for the Giants, Manning’s tenure as the starter wrapped up early, as the team made the move to rookie Daniel Jones at quarterback, who the team selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 draft.

Making the move to Jones signaled that the Giants were not ready to compete this season, and their record so far has proved that to be the case. New York is one of the worst teams in all of football on both sides of the ball, so they would be wise to start stocking up on young talent, and they could get the best overall player in this draft class at No. 2 overall.

Chase Young from Ohio State is an absolute beast of an edge rusher, and the Giants are currently lacking someone with that kind of skill set on their roster. Sure, they need help all over, including the offensive line and wide receiver to name a few, but Young is going to be way too hard to pass up this early in round one.
