Raiders fans throwing nachos on the field is a perfect ending

Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders lost at home in their Bay Area finale in heartbreaking fashion to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their fans were not pleased.

It’s the end of an era, that’s for sure.

The Oakland Raiders have played their final game at the Coliseum and will be heading to Las Vegas in 2020. Everybody knew that the Silver and Black were going to find a way to win their Bay Area finale on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Unfortunately, they blew it and Gardner Minshew’s guys ruined the day.

Oakland had a 16-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Minshew couldn’t get into a rhythm all afternoon. However, he found wide receiver Chris Conley for a touchdown strike late in the game to make it 16-13. Oakland had an opportunity to extend its lead, but a missed Daniel Carlson field goal gave the Jaguars one last shot .

In seven plays, Jacksonville marched down the field and scored the go-ahead touchdown — Conley again — with 31 seconds left. Raiders quarterback Derek Carr did his best to right the wrong but was unsuccessful in his attempt. Sadly, the Raiders would lose their final game in Oakland on Sunday to the Jaguars.

Naturally, Raider Nation was pissed about losing their last game in the Bay Area like this. Raiders fans booed Carr as he walked off the Coliseum field for the final time. Nachos were raining down on the field in Alameda County. Raider Nation had every reason to be upset. The team is moving and it lost its last game in Northern California.

The Raiders should have won this game, but instead, we’ve got nachos being used as projectiles and all of Oakland pissed at the Silver and Black. They’ll move to Las Vegas next year and should have success in Southern Nevada, but what about those nachos? Will those nachos forever stay in the Coliseum? Let’s hope so, or at least until that monstrosity is demolished and paved over.

It’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for Carr with the Raiders.

What an embarrassment.
