Joe Burrow is about to make the Bengals fun

Cincinnati Bengals, NFL Draft

Joe Burrow is awesome and he’s going to make the Cincinnati Bengals awesome, or at least a much more enjoyable team to watch on NFL Sundays.

Joe Burrow is the best thing to happen to Cincinnati since chili.

The Cincinnati Bengals will draft “The Geauxt” No. 1 overall in the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft. What Burrow did in his senior season with the LSU Tigers was borderline unimaginable. He went to an SEC West team whose offense was slightly an upgrade from the veer and helped give us the greatest display of passing ability we’ve arguably ever seen in college football.

Of course, new Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady had a lot to do with that as LSU’s former passing game coordinator, but it was Burrow’s cool, calm and collected demeanor that helped him throw for over 60 touchdowns and nearly 6,000 yards in a perfect season. The Athens, Ohio native will be a godsend to a moribund AFC North franchise dying to be interesting.

With an offensive-minded head coach in Zac Taylor and the most underrated receiver of his generation coming back in A.J. Green on the franchise tag, we’ll see an aerial assault in the Queen City on par with NFL MVP Boomer Esiason going no-huddle for Sam Wyche back in 1988. There’s never a wrong time to bring the Ickey Shuffle back into vogue.

There will no longer be playmakers on three along the banks of the Ohio River. Cincinnati may not be a playoff team next year, but the Bengals won’t be the worst team in football again with Burrow as their next face of the franchise. He’s going to throw for over 4,000 yards as a rookie, win a few games the Bengals probably shouldn’t and it’s going to be awesome to watch.

Rather than seeing Andy Dalton not get it done in the red zone while watching the Red Zone Channel, we have a decent chance of seeing Burrow put more points on the scoreboard in Cincinnati’s favor than Carson Palmer did as a youngster. Unlike his Heisman Trophy brother, Burrow won’t be redshirted as a rookie, he’s expected to make the Bengals fun again in 2020.

Whether he’s carving up lost defensive backs or showing elite footwork in the pocket, Burrow will make his presence felt in Cincinnati if he is drafted by the Bengals. We’re not only looking forward to his developing connection with Green in the passing game, there are few quarterbacks as cool and as polished in front of the microphone as Burrow.

The Bengals are about to get a rock star.
