Here’s what you should do with Tyreek Hill this week

Fantasy Football, Kansas City Chiefs

Though he left Monday Night Football early with a hamstring injury, it doesn’t seem to be a big deal for Tyreek Hill. This is great news for fantasy.

It wasn’t great to see him exit the game early on Monday Night Football vs. the Los Angeles Chargers at Estadio Azteca, but there is good news regarding Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s hamstring injury. It does seem to a minor one and that’s great for your fantasy team.

The Fantasy Footballers agree as Andy Holloway pointed out that the Chiefs will be on their annual bye week in Week 12 after defeating the Chargers in a neutral-site affair in Mexico City on Monday night. That will give Hill an extra week to rest his hamstring before the Chiefs’ next game.

So who will the Chiefs be playing in their next game coming off a bye? That would be at home vs. the archrival Oakland Raiders. Andy Reid off a bye wins over 90 percent of the time. And he will have presumably back his best vertical playmaker in Hill to further exploit the Oakland secondary.

This will be a game that the Raiders absolutely have to have if the Silver and Black want to win their first division title since 2002, as Oakland drops its annual home game against the Chiefs back in Week 2. The Raiders have improved defensively, but pass defense still remains an area that is not a huge strength for them, or not as suddenly dominant as their pass rush.

In the short-term, you’re going to need to find someone to start over Hill in Week 12 because he and the Chiefs will be on bye. However, he should be good to go come Week 13, right in time for the playoff push, both in the NFL and in your fantasy league.

When he’s healthy, Hill is a no-doubt starter at either wide receiver or in the flex. But if he’s not up to his blazing top speed, you may want to keep him on your bench for an extra week if you can afford to do so. Having a bye in Week 12 could not be coming at a more perfect time for Hill and the rest of the Kansas City offense. They need him to be healthy if they hope to make it to Miami.
