Terry McLaurin is quietly having a great rookie season with the Washington Redskins. He has a great fantasy matchup this week vs. the New York Giants.
No, it has not been a great year for the Washington Redskins. They were the first team to fire their head coach, as they parted ways with Jay Gruden months ago. As the season is winding down, Washington is still struggling to stay competitive in most games. That being said, the Redskins have gotten great play out of rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin.
The Fantasy Footballers believe he has a favorable matchup this week, as Washington takes on another bad team in the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon. Washington and New York are in the cellar of the pitiful NFC East and neither club has looked like a playoff team since before the season even began.

In 13 games in his rookie year out of Ohio State, McLaurin has 51 catches for 833 yards and seven touchdowns. McLaurin has an outside shot at 75 catches this year and 10 touchdowns but is very likely to go over 1,000 yards this year in the final two games of the season.
At this point of his career, McLaurin is more of a home-run threat than a volume receiver. While he has never had more than six receptions in a game, McLaurin has gone over the century mark three times in his rookie season. While he has never had back-to-back 100-yard receiving games in his career, there’s never going to be a better time for than that than against the bad Giants at home.
Though his starting quarterback Dwayne Haskins has been mediocre at best during his rookie year out of Ohio State, keep in mind that he and McLaurin were college teammates in Columbus. That means Haskins already had a built-in rapport with McLaurin before even arriving in the nation’s capital as a first-round pick.
No, McLaurin isn’t going to help your fantasy team win the championship by PPR metrics, but he is more than capable of breaking one over the top to expose a poor New York defense. Starting him in the flex is a tad risky, but there’s not a better time to roll the dice with him in that spot than at home against the Giants in a meaningless game for both parties involved.
