Patrick Mahomes named youngest Super Bowl MVP

Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, Super Bowl

Patrick Mahomes named Super Bowl 54’s Most Valuable Player after come from behind in the second half to win for the first time in 50 years.

Kansa City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, has been officially named the Super Bowl 54 Most Valuable Player … as if it could have been anyone else. He earns the honors after Chiefs came from behind in the third and fourth quarters to single-handedly dominate the second half of game, ending their first Super Bowl win in 50 years. The last time anyone from the Chiefs hoisted the Lombard Trophy over their head was Jan. 11, 1970. It must feel incredibly good for Mahomes right about now.

“Something I’ve wanted to say my whole life ‘I’m going to Disney World’,” Mahomes said on stage after he was announced the winner.

In fact, he tweeted that sentiment in 2013. My how the tables have turned!

Mahomes is the youngest Super Bowl MVP in the history of the game.

“To the Chiefs Kingdom, you are world champions once again,” said the owner of the team shortly before the award was announced.

The Chiefs struggled early and it looked like the game was all but lost in the fourth quarter, then someone lit a fire under their bums and they dominated with two back-to-back touchdowns to secure the win, ending with an interception to put the nail in the coffin for the San Francisco 49ers.

It seems that the fans agreed with who will be taking home the honors.
