The Denver Broncos have plenty of needs to address and the 2020 NFL Draft happens to be loaded at their positions of need.

The Denver Broncos won Super Bowl 50 just four years ago, and in those four years they have:

  • Not made the playoffs
  • Not had a winning or even .500 record
  • Had three different head coaches
  • Had six different quarterbacks

And to top it all off, they had to watch the Kansas City Chiefs win Super Bowl LIV.

Do you think John Elway is excited for the 2020 offseason and, in particular, the very deep 2020 NFL Draft class?

The Broncos have needs on the offensive line, defensive line, at wide receiver, and a number of other areas that could be upgraded.

Elway and the front office are currently operating with eight draft choices after the team’s trade of a late fourth-round pick for cornerback A.J. Bouye (Jaguars) but they expect to have 11 choices once compensatory selections are awarded.

For the time being, how will the Broncos spend their eight picks?

Here is one scenario of how the seven rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft could go for Denver.

1. First round: Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma

The Broncos could have selected Michigan linebacker Devin Bush in the 2019 NFL Draft, and instead they traded down to stockpile picks.

This year, with Todd Davis entering a contract year and the need for speed at linebacker still evident, the Broncos could look to the quarterback of the Oklahoma defense — Kenneth Murray — to be their new signal-caller defensively.

Murray is a stud of an athlete, a tackling machine, and a weapon on third down both in coverage and as a pass rusher.
