Drew Brees, NFL family come together to raise $35 million for coronavirus relief

With the help of many in the NFL family, especially Drew Brees, more than $35 million has been raised to help those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Now is the time for all of us to come together.

The NFL has heeded that message as the country and the rest of the world deals with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. With unemployment sky-rocketing across the country, kids out of schools and everyone else dealing with the real-world impact of this pandemic, many are in need.

This is where the NFL has stepped up. Players, the players association, coaches, the players union and owners have raised more than $35 million for coronavirus relief.

“We have all been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever, we need to unify to stay home and stay strong,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “The NFL will continue to find ways to give our support so we can get through this time of uncertainty together.”

One of the biggest donations came from the Drew Brees family that announced a $5 million donation to the people of Louisiana on Thursday morning.

This is a tremendous gesture from the Brees family. This is a time when many people are hurting. There is a great deal of uncertainty where the next meal is going to come from, where the money to pay the rent or a car note is going to come from. With people in a position who is able to help, everyone can feel just a little bit better as we all try and remember we are all on the same team and all in this together.
