It’s a team that figures to add a lot of talent in April’s draft. So what five players currently on the Miami Dolphins are primed for breakout campaigns?

It’s a team that won five of its final nine games after a miserable showing in its first seven outings a year ago. It’s a franchise that was supposedly not interested in winning in 2019 but as the numbers show, Brian Flores’ club got better as the season wore on. And the Miami Dolphins are less than three weeks away from utilizing an NFL-high 14 draft choices to the best of the organization’s abilities.

General manager Chris Grier has certainly been busy during free agency as well this offseason. If all goes well, this could be a team with an excellent blend of experience and youth. So as far as the players on the club at the moment, which five performers could be primed for career campaigns? There could be a surprise or two along the way.

5. G Michael Deiter

Encouraging words from a young player after the Miami Dolphins wrapped up their first season under Brian Flores and offensive lineman Michael Deiter concluded his rookie campaign.

“Mentally, I’ve been sharper towards the end of the year,” explained the 2019 third-round pick to Steve Gorten of the Palm Beach Post. “There’s been some techniques that have been better. But there’s still so much more that I need to get better with.”

The former University of Wisconsin product played in all 16 contests and made 15 starts at left guard. He’s a versatile performer who figures to move to the right side thanks to the free-agent addition of Ereck Flowers.
