A random social media exchange involving reining NFL MVP Lamar Jackson and President Donald Trump sparked reactions on Twitter.
It’s not always what you tweet, but who you tweet at. When the reining NFL MVP tweets “Truzz Trump” to President 45, it’s going to spark reactions on Twitter.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was involved in said Twitter exchange on Saturday morning, responding to a tweet from President Donald Trump. While Trump’s initial tweet sparked a reaction, Jackson’s two words, “Truzz Trump” sparked an even bigger one.
On Friday night, The Checkdown posted a reaction of one of Jackson’s former college teammates on draft night. It was a video of Jaire Alexander reacting happily to Jackson being drafted in the NFL.
“Jaire Alexander’s reaction to his college teammate Lamar getting drafted was priceless,” The Checkdown tweeted.
Saturday morning, Jackson tweeted back two fingers crossed emoji follow by “Brodie” and tagging Alexander.
The tweet caught the eye of Trump. He went on to retweet the post with a comment.
”Really nice to see this and, what a great pick!” Trump tweeted.
Jackson went on to respond with the Ravens’ infamous catchphrase “Big Truss,” but not before first tailoring it to Trump.

As many would guess, the tweet back to Trump sparked many reactions on Twitter.
This Twitter exchange comes the day after President Trump engaged in tweets that encouraged his supporters to rally and protest against social-distancing protocols in Michigan, Minnesota and Virginia. Those states have governors sticking with the “Stay At Home” act to be in compliance with health experts’ orders in an attempt to slow down the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, also known as COVID-19.
