New England’s new uniforms are drawings question marks amongst fans

New England Patriots, NFL Teams

The New England Patriots previewed their new look via Twitter Monday. The Patriots are one of seven NFL teams to acquire new uniforms heading into the 2020 NFL season.

The Patriots will have new threads heading into the 2020 NFL season.

The New England Patriots released a video displaying their new uniforms on Monday, April 20, via Twitter. Shortly after releasing the video, comments on the Twitter thread reveal fans are unhappy with the changes or lack thereof.

The video reveals two jerseys: a home and away set sticking with blue as the dominant color. The home set features a blue jersey and pants with a red and white stripe on the shoulders. The away uniforms are nearly identical with just a white top. However, the lack of creativity seems to have disappointed the fans.

“IMO (in my opinion) those are the ugliest football uniforms I’ve ever seen,” one account tweeted.

Another seemed disappointed with the pattern choice.

”Are you kidding me? I never liked the color rush look…thought we were getting royal blue or pat patriot throwbacks,” one account tweeted.

Earlier this offseason Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman teased a 90’s nod when the Patriots officially announced they would get new uniforms for the 2020 NFL season. It seems the speculation has fans disappointed with the official look the team is going to have going forward.

And with the jerseys being a part of the team’s brand of moving forward from the Tom Brady era, it doesn’t seem like it’s working.

“When you get a new haircut trying to get over your ex,” one account tweeted.

With only two jerseys released it seems the Patriots should cook up an alternate jersey. They will need some sort of buzz to get fans buying jerseys again. The good news for Tom Brady fans is that the Buccaneers definitely won a head-to-head when it comes to best new 2020 uniforms.
