Chicago Bears 2020 schedule release: Games, dates and times

Chicago Bears, NFL Schedule

After falling short of the playoffs in 2019, the pressure is on Mitchell Trubisky and the Chicago Bears to return to the postseason.

It’s amazing how fast things can change in the NFL and there wasn’t a better example of that in 2019 than the Chicago Bears. Just a year earlier the Bears were NFC North Champions after a 12-4 season that came to a bitter end when kicker Cody Parkey double-doinked a game-winning field goal in the Wild Card round against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Chicago entered 2019 with high expectations but fell flat, going 8-8 to finish in third place in the division and miss the playoffs. The big problem was a case of serious regression from quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, who went from sure-fire franchise quarterback status to open question in the span of a season.

The Bears got themselves some veteran insurance at the quarterback position this spring, trading for Nick Foles from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Foles never got a chance to get going in Jacksonville after breaking his collarbone in the first game of the season, losing his job to Gardner Minshew after an ineffective return to the lineup.

The idea here is that Foles will give the Bears an option if Trubisky continues to falter, which is important on a team with a strong defense and good offensive weapons. With all of the losses the Minnesota Vikings have suffered this offseason, there is no reason Bears’ fans shouldn’t be thinking about a return trip to the postseason.

Chicago usually gets a ton of national exposure regardless of how good they are, but the Bears’ schedule does feature plenty of intriguing games. Besides the all-important matchups with the Vikings and Green Bay Packers, the Bears will deal with the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans this season.

When the full 2020 NFL schedule is released this post will be updated immediately with game dates, times, and broadcast information. In the meantime, let’s take a look at the home and road opponents for the Bears in 2020.
