Jason Peters workout video confirms former Eagles Pro Bowler has a lot left in the tank

Philadelphia Eagles

Former Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters remains a free agent, but still desires to play in 2020 and this workout video proves he’s still got it.

For Jason Peters, the desire to play is still there, even at 38 years old. The former Philadelphia Eagles left tackle has continued to make it clear that he has every intention of playing in 2020, as he remains unsigned nearly through the halfway part of May.

Peters’ 11-year tenure with the Eagles came to an end when the team opted against resigning their former franchise blindside blocker. Many around the Eagles had the inclination they would possibly bring Peters back. But, the team opted against it in an offseason where they made the effort to get younger.

2020 was Peters’ 16th in the NFL after signing with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas. The college tight end made the transition to offensive tackle and has been a perennial Pro Bowler for most of his career.

After making back-to-back pro bowls with Buffalo in 2007 and 2008, Peters signed with the Eagles. It was there where his career took off. In total, Peters has been selected to nine pro bowls and has been a first-team All-Pro twice.

Consensus has been Peters has struggled with injuries the last few years, but outside of 2017, he has played in over 13 games in every season since 2012, when he missed the whole season. Peters suffered a torn-ACL in 2017 and missed the Eagles postseason run, culminating in a Super Bowl championship.

The Eagles appear to be set at tackle with Lane Johnson and the second-year left tackle out of Washington State Andre Dillard. It is hard to see the Eagles stunting the development of Dillard after investing a first-round pick in him prior to last season.

Could Peters retire if he receives no opportunities prior to the season? That remains to be seen. But he has every intention of suiting up again for an NFL team in 2020.
