5 reasons the Cowboys will win the NFC East

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys came up one game short of the NFC East crown in 2019, but Dallas will definitely overcome that small deficit in 2020.

A lot has changed since the Dallas Cowboys ended the 2019 regular season with an ugly record of 8-8. The team’s failure to even make the playoffs led to a coaching change and significant roster turnover. The good news for Cowboys fans is that the changes have their favorite team well-positioned to win an NFC East title in 2020.

Dak Prescott and the offense should benefit heavily from the head coach transition from Jason Garrett to Mike McCarthy. It wasn’t exactly a weakness for the team a season ago, but more points should be scored this year.

Admittedly, there are some serious question marks on the defensive side of the ball. The team is placing a lot of hope on Dontari Poe and Gerald McCoy to fix their problems up front. It’s worth noting that the duo wasn’t very productive in Carolina a season ago. There are also questions about who can be counted on to rush the passer consistently.

Nonetheless, the Cowboys are going to be the pride of their division. Read on to discover the five reasons they will win the NFC East.

5. The Redskins and Giants are non-factors

There’s a chance the Washington Redskins are one of the worst teams in the NFL. The New York Giants should be marginally better, but they won’t be in the playoff chase either. That leaves the division to a battle between the Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.

Dallas will benefit from not having to worry so much about their games with Washington and New York. The team should be able to book at least three wins out of their four games against the division bottom-dwellers. Look for the Cowboys to gain at least a single-game advantage over the Eagles by beating up on the weak teams in the division.
